Hi everyone.

Modelling the model in the photo above is “Houdini”, Rocky’s twin brother. He’s the last of three cats in the litter born in 2011.

Anyway, on we go with the model kit review which is why I assume you are here.

This kit is most unusual. It’s a fictional spaceship. Obviously, it represents an airbrush. In case you hadn’t figured it out, the “Iwata” brand should also give a few clues. That is deliberate. Of course, it’s a fantasy creation like all Sci-Fi model kits. But this one is not only a unique and curious subject but is of exceptionally high quality! This is a model kit designed for someone who really wants something different! A lot of attention to detail was put into this and it’s definitely going to be a conversation piece at model contests.

This kit is composed of 177 plastic parts, and as a bonus, a full lighting kit is included to light up the engines and windows etc. as shown on the boxtop. The model is a snap-together kit too, so glue is not needed.

Parts are well packed and protected with each sprue covered in a clear plastic bag. Below are some pictures of the parts and details. First, this is the contents of the box. The small white box contains a USB power wire. The parts are moulded in the correct colours which means if you don’t want to paint the model, you don’t have to.

Some sharp-eyed modellers will notice some parts that give a nod to the kind of “kitbashing” we saw populating classic miniatures seen in Star Wars, Galactica and the like.

Clear parts are actually translucent to help with diffusing the LED lights.
