Yes, that's the "fan scale" but in the show, it's stated as being 24' long, and the stage mockup was about that size. The kit in the above article is almost a foot long. The 1/32 scale only comes into play if you count the interior which was built as a seperate oversized set (as is the norm for sets of small aircraft or vehicles so there is room for cameras, lighting, etc.). The interior as filmed could not fit into the stage exterior mockup. So if you built an interior to scale with the actors, the ship would be 1/32. So in a sense, the model is both scales, depending on whether you base it on the interior or exterior..
